I Could Just Curl Up and Dye!

Hard Candy Curl Up and Dye Mascara

Hard Candy is now available at Wal-Mart.  I was surprised by that.  Apparently my store carries the full line, but damned if they can keep it in stock!  I picked up a handful of products a few weeks ago, and this is the first to be reviewed.  I do love eye makeup!

Curl Up and Dye is a curling mascara, obviously.  The website doesn’t say much, other than it’s a thick, rich, curling formula.

The first thing I noticed was, of course, the brush.  It’s really, really, really skinny.  Which is odd considering that the trend in mascara seems to be chubby brushes right now.  Since the mascara itself is rather thick and creamy, you will want to blot the brush with a tissue the first couple of times you use it to avoid globs.  I had to use it several times before I got used to the brush.

The product gives the lashes just a hint of curl – nothing dramatic.  It mimics the look of actually taking the time to use a regular lash curler.  Ladies with naturally thicker or longer lashes than mine might see different results.

I didn’t notice any flaking after several hours of wear.  It didn’t irritate my eyes, either.  Both of these are points in a mascara’s favor, as far as I’m concerned.

Bottom Line:  A good little mascara for the price.  It darkens lashes nicely, and adds just a hint of curl, no extra steps required.
